This was Higgins' third consecutive win in the competition, and he was first to win the title three times.
The Irishman was a masterclass in his performance. After an opening frame on colours, he won the next seven frames and was ahead 8-3 after three frames. Then, Higgins fired an 84-break to take the lead again. Robertson got a chance after Higgins failed to hit a tricky yellow in his next frame on the baulk cushions.
Ronnie O'Sullivan's form
Ronnie O'Sullivan has reestablished himself as a major British sport and has been in excellent form at the Snooker Players Championship. His two-day win in Sheffield has helped him regain his world number 1 ranking and established his status as one the most renowned snooker players. He now shares seven world titles with Stephen Hendry and will be looking to win a supplementary title next year.

He suffered several injuries in recent years. He underwent gastric Sleeve surgery and was recently divorced. He also had back and neck problems.
