Joe Perry is a well-known player in snooker. He is a British snooker player, who has spent a number of seasons at the lower end of the sport. He has also spent a few seasons at the top of the game. He made it to the Top 16 of the game in 2002. He has been in the Top 20 for three seasons.

Joe Perry was referred to as "the Fen Potter" and also "the Gentleman." A member of the Cambridgeshire region, he turned professional in 1992 and he has been a full-time professional since 2003. Ken, his brother, is also a professional.

Perry has been a regular on the global stage, even though he has not won a major ranking event. Perry finished within the top eight provisional rankings in 2011, and won a minor ranking event in 2015. He participated in a battle alongside Ronnie O'Sullivan this year.

Perry has been in the finals at both the UK Championship as well as the European Open. He has also qualified for the quarter-finals of the World Championship. He reached the semi finals of the UK Championship in 2004, but was defeated by David Gray. He beat Judd Trump in the semi-finals, but lost to Stephen Hendry at the final.


After starting his snooker playing career at twelve, he rose to the top as a professional in the early 90s. He reached the finals at the European Open in 2001. In the spring of 2001, he won his second European Open final. He won the Welsh Open in late spring of that year. In 2014, he took part in Wuxi Classic.

He also beat Marco Fu, Matthew Stevens and Jamie Cope in round one of the World Championship and reached the semi-finals at the Masters. He was awarded his second ranking title. Later in the year, he was involved in the Welsh Open and the Xuzhou Open. At the close of that season, his standings had fallen to a disappointing 14th.

Despite losing to Graeme Dott and Stephen Hendry, he has managed to secure a place in the top half of the world rankings. He has won the Welsh Open Masters (Welsh Open Masters), and the Xuzhou Open. And he has also run courses to teach people how to play the game.

He has tried many times to beat Ronnie O'Sullivan throughout his career. He won a 9-5 victory during the first round, 2008 UK Championship. He was just one frame away of the Masters finals in 2017, but lost to Ronnie O'Sullivan.

In the first round in the 2018 World Championship, he defeated Mark Selby who was the defending champion. He also won the Xuzhou Open in 2015. In addition, he has a number of courses and has been a guest commentator for the BBC.
