The Billiard Congress of America is a national organization that promotes billiards and organizes pool players. It is headquartered near Broomfield, Colorado. There is also a branch in Atlanta. As an organization, BCA is involved in all facets of the sport, and has been instrumental in the promotion of snooker and 3-Cushion billiards.
BCA is also an governing body responsible for overseeing and providing input to the rules and specifications of tournaments and games. BCA has a significant role in the sanctioning of tournaments. It also offers education resources and leadership opportunities that promote the game and pool.
The BCA played a significant role in the promotion, development and preservation of pool. It has been a leading organizer of billiards sports in the United States since more than 100 years. Through education and leadership opportunities, the organization supports the development and growth of the next generation through scholarships and programs. The organization also maintains the Billiard Congress of America Hall of Fame, which recognizes outstanding players and contributors.
The Official Rules and Records Book (or Official Rules and Records Book) is one of the many activities that the organization has undertaken. This concise rulebook contains the standardized rules utilized by the World Pool-Billiard association (WPA). It also provides a guide that explains the rules for various other games. The U.S. Open 14.1 Championships are also promoted through the BCA.
The BCA also promotes and sanctions championship tournaments. It's also the governing body for pocket billiards in the United States. The BCA holds a trade show every year, which features a wide array of products, including billiards, barstools, casual furniture, and a variety of other cues.
The BCA Pool League was also established by the BCA. This league sanctioning body is managed by the BCA. The league has over 450 sanctioned leagues in the United States as well eight other countries. The BCAPL National 8-Ball Championships hosts 22 divisions. BCAPL is home to more than 55,000 members.
BCA has hosted the annual BCA Summit. These seminars cover a wide variety of topics in billiards and home-recreation, as well social events to promote peer relations. It has also hosted the BCA Expo since 1982. It will be joining forces with Amusementexpo International (AEI) during the March 27-30 2023 Las Vegas event.
Billiard Congress of America Official Rules and Records Book are also kept by the BCA. It includes all rules of billiards including nine-ball. It also contains a rulebook that covers games not subject to international competition.
While not as focused as the APA on league play (the BCA), it is one of largest supporters of the sport. It provides educational resources, leadership opportunities and referral services.
