Dennis Taylor was born in Coalisland, County Tyrone, Northern Ireland, on January 19th, 1949. At the age of nine, he began playing snooker. He became one of the top snooker players worldwide. He was the British Junior Billiards champion in 1967/68. He was also involved in the 1973 World Snooker Championship. In 1972, he made a professional debut.
